Overiew:

The main topic of this project that I created for English, was to basically write as David Levithan does. I obtained numerous amount of mentor text that ranged from his books, website, and even his twitter. Considering that a project of this sort should not lack uniqueness, I decided to create my own writing. This project gave me the ability to explore the reading world, while enjoying the process. Initially whe I began this project, I knew that it would be enjoyable because I had been neglecting the reading world. I definitely because submerged within the books and still can not put down David Levithan books. Overall, I believe that this helped me deep into my new found love for composing pieces of writing and reading books as well.

I though that David Levithan would definitely be a great writer to choose as a mentor because of he is known for writing great teens book. In fact, I figured that I would not be disappointed because of my great experience with the book Lover's Dictionary, which I used during the summer to study for SAT's and for leisure. Throughout my journey, I have been able to find other great artists that remind me of David Levithan, such as John Greene, which has expanded my reading list!

My different genres created for this project goes as follows:

-Podcast of self-written spoken word.

-Drawing of David Levithan

-Biography of David Levithan

-Self Created Pieces of Writing

-A Book Review

-My Reading List

I am glad that I have been able to go on this mission as an evolving writer and reader. I realized that now-a-days many people in my generation do not visit libraries, which breaks my heart. I no longer wanted to be part of this group of people who takes a novel for granted. Instead of have taken novels, that I now devour because I do not only taste books, but I digest them, taking in the savory flavors that they have to offer.
